Photoshoot with women-owned businesses in the Magic City

I spent the day in downtown Birmingham with five other women from the Rising Tide Society. We’re all creatives running our own businesses — photographers, a venue owner, and a social media strategist came together for a content day that gave each of us space to create and connect.

We started at Lumi, the perfect blank canvas to bring your vision to life. The space has beautiful exposed brick walls and large windows that spill over with natural light. Each photographer took turns stepping in front of the camera while the others captured behind-the-scenes moments. Allison of Allison Olivia Socials documented the whole thing with content creation in mind from stills to reels to all the little details we usually forget to capture.

Next, we made our way to Railroad Park, where we spent time frolicking through the open space, snapping more photos and having fun with video content.

We wrapped up at Tasty Town, a downtown restaurant with great light, great food, and plenty of photo ops. After a few more pictures, we sat down and enjoyed a bite together before everyone headed out.

Days like this remind me how good it feels to collaborate and be seen not just as a business owner, but as a creative.
